How can you tell when you’re TKO?
How many of these apply?…
- Even though your kitchen remodel was finished 2 years ago, you’re still researching tile, appliances, faucets etc – for next time.
- Your friends make bets about how far into a conversation you’ll get before mentioning your kitchen project.
- You have kitchen dreams and nightmares
- Your family wonder what you’ll find to talk about when it’s all finished.
- You check the kitchen forum several times a day from your hospital bed
- You’re already getting tile and counter material samples for a kitchen reno that doesn’t start for another 2 years.
- You fired two General Contractors because they weren’t up to your standards, and finished GC-ing the job yourself.
- You bought another house once you finished the kitchen reno, so you could do it again – better.
- You carry a tape measure everywhere, and will measure anything, anywhere, at any time if you think it might be useful. And you really NEED one of those tiny digital cameras that fits on a keyring.
- You’re still buying kitchen magazines, and the kitchen reno finished months ago.
- You’re more interested in the kitchen in the movie than the plot or the actors. If it’s on DVD, you pause the DVD to look at the kitchen.
- On vacation, you poke around industrial areas looking for new sources of tile

- If someone’s kitchen window is open, you have to look inside to check out their kitchen.
- You wonder how someone can not know the name of their granite.
- You try to convince your parents to let you help them remodel their kitchen, because you’ve finished yours and you’re still TKO.
- You buy two full sets of hardware for the cabinets, just in case you don’t like the first kind once it’s installed.
- Your pets match your kitchen color scheme
- You sit at the computer hitting refresh hoping that someone on the forum might post a new and interesting question for you to research.
